Custom Builds What's Your Mission? Sky Pirate Drones Central Coast, California Built, Not Bought Heavy Lifter

Sky Pirate Drones

Central Coast, California

Every Sky Pirate Drones platform starts from our own frame designs and is built up from there — not an off-the-shelf kit. That means each aircraft is tuned for the mission it needs to fly, not a generic use case. Flight control runs on the Pixhawk platform, giving us reliable, field-proven autopilot hardware with the flexibility to configure and tune each build to spec.

Building our own frames also means we control the details that matter most — weight distribution, motor placement, prop clearance, and redundancy — rather than working around the limitations of a stock design.

Our Frame Line Up

Coaxial Hex (Y6 Frame)

Maneuverable lift in a compact footprint. Stacked motor pairs on each arm add redundancy without adding bulk — if one motor in a pair goes down, the aircraft stays in the air.

Hexacopter Heavy Lifter

Built to carry serious payload without compromise. Six motors give us the lift capacity for larger camera rigs, sensors, or cargo, with power to spare.

Coaxial Quad

Redundant heavy lift, efficient frame. Paired motors on a quad layout balance lift capacity with a tighter, more efficient footprint than a full hex.

Quad Frame

Same platform, any size — mid to heavy-lift. Our standard quad build scales from mid-size up to heavy-lift configurations on one consistent frame design.

Why We Build Custom

  • Purpose-built, not repurposed. Frames are designed around the mission — payload, endurance, or maneuverability — instead of adapting a stock frame after the fact.
  • Pixhawk flight control. A trusted, open autopilot platform that gives us the flexibility to configure and tune every build.
  • Redundancy where it counts. Coaxial configurations mean a single motor failure doesn’t mean a lost aircraft.
  • Built to evolve. As our frame designs and flight controller setups improve, so do the builds — we’re always refining based on what performs best in the field.
